Technology
At DentalToday we use only the latest and most advanced technology to provide our patients with highest quality treatment and friendliest experience.
Digital x-ray OP200
DentalToday’s X-ray machine (ORTHOPANTOMOGRAPH®OP200 D) is the leading product in the global market, created after fifty years of production experience. It omits less than 90% radiation compared to traditional X-ray machines by using a special patented dose-controlled Automatic Exposure Control.
Our X-Ray machine provides a panoramic, high resolution pictures with broad borders, equipping our team with the most accurate information about your mouth when making your treatment plan. It is capable of scanning your entire mouth in just five seconds (quicker than it took you to read this paragraph!) and creates an instantaneous image of your teeth on our digital network, with no need to wait for the photo to be developed. This allows Dr Amith to review the image on the screen next to you while discussing your personalised care plan.
KaVo Pen DIAGNOdent
Our KaVo Pen DIAGNOdent allows us to detect deep cavities using a quick and non-invasive method. Hovering over your teeth, this pen-shaped tool operates using light rays that bounce off the tooth and are recorded to detect any subtle changes in your tooth constitution to determine where ‘hidden carries’ exist within it. Like all things in our surgery, the KaVo Pen DIAGNOdent is highly advanced, it is a safe and non-invasive tool.
At DentalToday thanks to our KaVo Pen DIAGNOdent Dr Amith can detect Hidden Carries with over 90% accuracy, including those that would normally be overseen at your trip to the dentist, while without the KaVo Pen DIAGNOdent Hidden Carries are extremely hard to detect and require dentists to open up the tooth in order to confirm their diagnosis. Putting our Patient’s wellbeing as our top priority (see our philosophy ) we aspire to find and treat Hidden Carries as quickly as possible, providing our patients with the best chance of saving the tooth and avoiding future pain.
Lasers
Integrating laser with dentistry created a revolution in dental treatment as you know it. It allows minimising discomfort and increasing precision during treatment. Dr Amith is an enthusiast advocate of laser treatments and is fully certified to use lasers in his practice.
Dr Amith puts a particular emphasis on equipping DentalToday with the best and the latest Laser apparatus based on his ongoing education about new developments in research and in the market
KaVo KEY 3 Laser
The high level of technology known as Key 3 Laser does it all. The running joke around the office is that it can do anything but coffee. It is precise, creates minimal discomfort, quiet, and kills all the bacteria during the procedure. As a result, at DentalToday you will experience a more pleasant treatment experience and faster healing process.
The KEY 3 Laser produces a high energy beam of light of a certain wave length (the Laser beam). Dr Amith can then use this laser beam to carry out high precision procedures as the machine continuously monitors the movement of the beam. This cooperation between man and machine provides expert treatment in a focused area, Keeping the surrounding structures inside the mouth safe and intact.
SAF (Self Adjusting File) system
The Self Adjust endodontic File system (SAF), is the crown jewel of innovation and advance technology at DentalToday. We are the ONLY surgery in New Zealand to own and use this cutting edge technology and our dentist Dr Amith is trained and experienced in using this intricate tool.
The SAF is used in root canal procedures to clean the canal itself. Unlike other products in the market, SAF mimics the shape of the root canal by self adjusting its shape and size. Thus, we can attain greater depths and quality of cleaning than ever before during root canal procedures. For you, this means minimising trauma to the tissue and optimising the longevity of your teeth.
